Set up MFA (multifactor authentication)
This article will show you how to set up MFA when using it for the first time.
Before you start
We recommended you follow these instructions on a computer , using your mobile phone or tablet when indicated. It’s possible to set up MFA using only one device but we don’t recommend it.
Ensure the date and time are set correctly on each device.
Please use the Authenticator app for your default sign-in method. Phone call and text message are not recommended as they are less secure.
Please be aware that any change of phone number associated with your account authentication does not update your student or staff contact details. If you need to update your contact number, please login to HR Organiser (staff) or MyEssex (students).
