Uploading a video to Panopto

Introduction

Please use this documentation if you wish to upload any media (video or audio) to Panopto. You may wish to use this if you want to embed film, or other media to a website such as Moodle, or even just to share a link with your students!

Instructions

1. Open a web browser and navigate to http://panopto.essex.ac.uk/

2. Click Sign-In

   1. Top-right of the page

3. The “Sign in using” option should be set by default to Essex (ADFS)

4. If prompted, Sign in using your Essex credentials

   1. Username will be your Essex ID, followed by @essex.ac.uk

   2. Password will be your Essex password

5. Click on the dropdown for Create

6. Click Upload Media

7. Make sure “Add Files” is set to your PRID

   1. If uploading to a specific space instead, select that space

8. Drag and Drop your media file(s) from your computer to Panopto

9. Wait for your file to upload

You will receive an on-screen notification confirmation once complete and your file will begin processing.

Your upload will now be visible in your folder.
