LinkedIn Learning for Instructors

In this Article

Introduction

LinkedIn Learning is a great tool for supplementing your classroom training. Instead of using valuable class time teaching basic skills and software, you can assign easy-to-use online videos. In addition to helping your students succeed, LinkedIn Learning is a powerful resource for you to build new skills and stay up-to-date on current trends.

Add a Link to Moodle

  1. Log in to LinkedIn Learning and search for the course or individual video you wish to share.

  2. Filter results if required then click on an item to open it.

  3. Copy the URL from the address bar at the top and paste into your Moodle course.

This is a good option if you don’t need to see viewing statistics for the content your sharing.

Embed a Video in Moodle

If you have linked your Linked account with your LinkedIn Learning account, you have the added benefit of being able to unlock and embed up to 5 videos per month, but you won’t be able to see viewing statistics in LinkedIn Learning for this content.

  1. Log in to LinkedIn Learning and search for the course or individual video you wish to share.

  2. Filter results if required then click on an item to open it.

  3. In the upper right corner, click on the arrow icon (Share this course) and then Unlock Video to Embed

  4. Click on Get Embed Code (the code will be copied to your clipboard).

  5. Go to your Moodle course and Turn editing on.

  6. Decide where you want the video to appear and click Edit (eg Edit Topic).

  7. Click on the arrow icon to Show/hide advanced buttons, then enter HTML mode (</>)

  8. Paste the embed code and Save.

Add a LMS Package to Moodle

You can download videos and courses already and add to your Moodle courses. Learning Paths and Collections will be available to download soon. Learner viewing stats will be available via Moodle with this option.

  1. Log in to LinkedIn Learning then Go to Admin.

  2. In the top menu bar, click on Content.

  3. In Explore, search for content, click to open it, then choose Download LMS Package (the .zip file will be saved in your Downloads folder).
