This article will provide step by step instructions for installing SPSS for both Windows and Mac.

Getting started with Software Hub
How to Install
Navigate to the Software Hub
When prompted sign in
Using your Essex IT Account credentials
ℹ️ Wait for your machine to validate
Search for SPSS
Multiple versions may show
Select the latest version to open the landing page
‼️ Do not select Install yet
Copy or or take note of the license key provided under the License Details section
This may be needed during installation
Select the dropdown arrow
Select to install the version that best suits your needs
Wait for Cloudpaging Player to open
SPSS should open automatically
License
SPSS when connected to the local University network should pick up the license automatically, however if using a personal device or a Mac, you may be required to enter the license key manually.
Open SPSS
Select File
Select Manage License
Near the bottom of the menu
Select Launch License Wizard
Select the top option “Authorized user license”
Select Next
Enter to license code from the SPSS page on the Software Hub
You should have taken a note of this during installation
Select Next
ℹ️ If successful, it should display an approved license screen
Select Next
Select Finish
Select Restart
Troubleshooting
Should you experience issues with SPSS, we recommend uninstalling the app from the Cloudpaging Player and re-installing the latest version from the Software Hub.
Are you a Mac user?
If you are running Sonoma or above and are experiencing issues with SPSS, we recommend following the below instructions to fix the issue.
