Change your password for HR Organiser
Important notice
If your password contains the following characters, you will not be able to login to HR Organiser " £ ¬ ¦ | \
Top Tip
After you have changed your password, ensure the password is updated in any password managers you may be using.
You may also need to clear your web browser cache (search Google for the name of the web browser you are using and 'how to clear cache' for guidance, e.g. "Microsoft Edge how to clear cache").
University of Essex staff
Please change your password for your University of Essex IT account using the following page, ensuring you do not include the following characters " £ ¬ ¦ | \
Please be aware that it may take up to 30 minutes for your new password to become active.
Student Union (SU) staff
Navigate to the HR Organiser and select the 'Students' Union' option.
On the next screen which says "Login" at the top, select the "Forgotten password?" link.
On the next screen which says "Forgotten password" at the top, enter your username (including su- e.g. su-ab12345) and your Essex email address (e.g. ab12345@essex.ac.uk).
Select the 'Email' button.
Close/quit the web browser where you have HR Organiser open.
You should receive a 'password reset' email to your Essex email address. If you do not receive the email, please repeat steps 1 - 5 and ensure you have entered your email correctly.
In the password reset email, right click (or tab and hold on mobile) on the 'Reset your password' link and select to copy the link.
Open your web browser, and in a new tab, paste the link in the address bar then navigate to that page.
You should be taken to a screen which says "Reset password" at the top.
Please set a new password - this must be at least 16 characters, and can contain upper and lower case alpha and numeric characters. Do not include the following characters " £ ¬ ¦ | \
Click 'Save'.
You should now be able to log in using your SU username (including su-) and the new password: How to login to HR Organiser
