Instructions

  1. Open your device’s Settings app

  2. Choose Network and Internet

  3. Choose Internet

  4. Turn on your wifi (if it’s turned off)

  5. Choose eduroam

  6. Enter the following settings and then choose Connect.

  1. Open a web browser such as Google Chrome

  2. Tap on the address bar at the top of the screen

  3. Type essex.ac.uk/it/eduroam.crt

    1. You may be asked to allow the website to download the file

    2. Tap Allow

  4. Tap Close

  1. Navigate to Settings on your device

  2. Tap Security & Privacy

    1. You may need to scroll down toward the bottom of the current menu

  3. Tap More Security Settings

  4. Tap Encryption & Credentials

  5. Tap Install a Certificate

  6. Tap Wi-Fi Certificate

  7. Tap the file named eduroam.crt

  8. Name it eduroam

  9. Tap OK

    1. You may receive an error message, you can ignore it

  10. Return to step 6 and change the settings to the following:
