You can print from any computer on campus, or from your personal laptop, phone or tablet using our mobile print service.

Collect your Print

When you print, your document is sent to the printer and held in a secure queue for

Mobile Print Service

Our mobile print service lets you send documents to the printer by email.

  1. Send the email from your Essex Email Account

(warning) Using a non-Essex email account will not work

  1. Open a new email and attach the documents you want to print to it

  2. Send the email to mobileprinting@essex.ac.uk

  3. Collect your print from any student printer on campus

ℹ️ Your documents are held in a secure queue for 8 hours.

Out of Credit?

You can Request Top-up via MyEssex once every three months.

  • Sign into MyEssex

    • Using your external email address and passphrase

  • Click the Education Tab

  • Under “IT Support”, click Print Credit Top-up Form

Printing Options

The welcome screen of the printer will look similar to the below. Once you have logged in, you will be presented with a number of options and printing options.

Secure Print is where you can access your print queue, this will contain anything you have printed to the “Essex Printing” queue, or any attachments you have sent to mobileprinting@essex.ac.uk

Copy allows you to make photocopies of hardcopy resources. You can also use this feature to take photocopies of passports and ID cards. Please adhere to the University’s copyright guidance

Scan takes you to the Scan menu, although shortcuts can be found using the following three buttons.

Scan to Essex Email allows the scanning of any hardcopy resource which can then be sent as an attachment to your Essex Email address, you can change the file type of the attachment.

Scan to Box is available to our users who have access to Box, and allows the scanning of any hardcopy resource which can then be saved to your Box cloud storage space. As default, this will be saved to your myBox folder.

Scan to OneDrive allows the scanning of any hardcopy resource which can then be saved to your OneDrive cloud storage space. As default, this will be saved to the top level folder.

Scan and Store allows the scanning of any hardcopy resource which can then be saved to your external USB drive, the USB socket is usually located on the right-hand side of the printer.
